Absolutely. Most people take their HVAC system for granted and think that as long as it keeps you cool in the summer and warm in the winter, it’s performing properly. Not so. Your HVAC system is a complex mechanical machine run by electrical components and fuel. You probably wouldn’t think twice about upgrading your computers components and installing anti-virus software to keep your computer running smoothly. The same is true with your HVAC system. Even the best heating and air conditioning equipment can become less efficient and experience operating issues when they are not properly maintained. This is why it is extremely important to have a qualified HVAC technician perform routine maintenance of your HVAC equipment.

Typically the filters we supply are better quality and have higher MERV ratings. Noblewood carries an array of different filters to accommodate any equipment but recommends high efficiency filters be used and changed regularly.

A general rule of thumb for warranties is 5 years for furnaces and five years for air conditioners. You can easily find out the date your equipment was manufactured by locating the label on the exterior of your unit. Warranty terms and conditions do vary by manufacturer. Noblewood can easily determine your equipments warranty status by doing a system inspection and will honour a manufacturer’s warranty whenever possible to the homeowner even if we did not install the equipment.

Your HVAC system generally uses more energy than your other common household appliances. Here are a few easy ways to help control rising energy costs with respect to your HVAC system:

An HRV is a Heat Recovery Ventilator. An HRV system continually brings fresh air from outside into your home and transfers heat from stale air (which gets exhausted to the outside) to the fresh air coming in before the air is distributed throughout your home. During the heating season, the excessive amount of moisture in your home can result in water pooling on your windows. An HRV helps keep humidity levels consistent which can minimize or eliminate this issue.
